Maricris Albarda
PT Technician
I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX and graduated from Veterans Memorial High School in 2020. I grew up playing soccer competitively, so naturally, I sought out playing college soccer. I decided to choose the schools that offered the most to lessen any finance burdens! I attended two universities on generous athletic scholarships before ultimately deciding that I wanted to focus on my education and career. I quit competitive soccer and am now a retired college athlete, moved back to Corpus Christi, and am continuing my education as a senior at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi majoring in Kinesiology!
The values that drive me are resilience, authenticity, optimism, family, health, and balance
“If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.” – Fred DeVito
Being a Kinesiology major and taking Kinesiology related classes, being a committed athlete for 17-18 years, weightlifting at the gym, and being injured myself and going through the rehabilitation process at a PT clinic (meaning I have familiarity with a PT clinic environment/exercises).
What’s Maricris Reading, Listening To, or Watching?
Crime Junkie Podcast, Morbid – True Crime Podcast, and On Purpose with Jay Shetty Podcast.
When I’m not working, I enjoy going to the gym to lift or play pickleball, karaoke, spending time with my family/friends/dog, going to the beach, and watching anime or anything that piques my interest!
I strive to help these patients trust the rehabilitation process, as well as reducing their frustration and pain. I do not want them to feel hopeless because their body is not functioning the way they want it to since they are limited by an injury. I will do my best to help them get through their program with actual, sustainable results while providing a friendly, fun, and trusting environment!
What do you do for the company and/or what do you specialize in?:
Sufficiently helping the PTs in any way I can, whether it’s helping the patients get their program started/finished up while the PTs are busy with another patient, or it’s maintaining a clean workspace. Overall, being actively productive.
