Avila Physical Therapy is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance standard
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and more user-friendly for everyone.
Measures we've taken
Our measures to support accessibility include:
- Semantic HTML landmarks, headings, and a skip-to-content link on every page
- Descriptive alt text on informational images and staff photos
- Labeled, keyboard-operable forms with visible error messaging
- Visible keyboard focus indicators, tuned for contrast on both light and dark sections
- Color combinations checked against WCAG AA contrast minimums
- Motion and auto-advancing content that respects your device's reduced-motion setting, with pause controls or automatic pausing on hover and keyboard focus
- Page content that remains readable if JavaScript is unavailable
We do not use, and will never use, an accessibility overlay or widget as a substitute for accessible code.
Ongoing review
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We periodically review this site, including automated testing and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks, and we address issues as we find them or as they're reported to us.
Known limitations
We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:
- The live Google reviews widget (near the bottom of the homepage) is provided by a third party and may not be fully operable by keyboard or screen reader in every browser. All reviews it displays are also readable directly on our Google Business Profile.
- Our downloadable patient intake PDF has not yet been verified for full screen-reader tagging. If you need help completing it, our front desk can fill it out with you by phone or in person, and every form on this site (booking, benefits check, workshops) is a fully accessible alternative.
